Buffy didn’t want to look at the clock, ticking away the last moments before the best day of her life was wiped out of existence forever. She wanted to look at him, force herself to remember; burn his face, his scent, this day, his heartbeat in her mind so no magick in the universe could ever take it away.

But she can’t stop looking at that evil second hand, a baton about to smash dreams into dust.

Tick.

His expression is… shocked somehow, and she can’t bear to look at him anymore. “So I guess I’m gonna go… start forgetting.”
