GROUCHY BAD YUCKY SICKY CRANKY DAY.

I don't know what the hell is going on with me, but now that I'm over the Death Flu, I now have some kind of Crohn's related intestinal HORROR going on that is just completely driving me crazy. I'm nauseous all the time (in spite of the powerful anti-nausea medicine I take), I feel like I'm getting ready to give birth to a number of aliens that are currently nesting in my gut, and I AM MORE MISERABLE THAN USUAL. OH! And to make things even more fun, my CPAP mask broke, and I feel like I didn't sleep at all last night. I'm sure the part I need to fix it will be outrageously expensive and take weeks to get here.

I HATE TODAY.

~

LOL Okay, this was funny: http://syndicated.livejournal.com/xkcd_rss/201317.html

I confess, a lot of times, I don't even get xkcd, but others, it makes my day. Part of what killed me with this one is that just about a week ago, I had to go through something similar when my cable internet went out (remember when I imploded?). I already knew it wasn't my computer, but I had to reboot it anyway. Of course, I was talking to a computer that was walking me through an endless script, so I didn't really have a chance to talk to an actual person, but... still, this made me chuckle. They should have tech support choices for beginners, intermediate, and advanced computer people.

~

Of course, feeling as crappy as I do means I'm WAY behind on my TV. I managed to get through Bones, which I thought was adorable, but that was it. I haven't even watched my ep of Terriers from the other day yet. SO!

Okay, I've watched a lot of TV in my time, and I can think of many things funnier than Katie Sackhoff and George Takei sitting in the backseat of the main characters' car arguing over whether said characters should kiss with tongue. I swear, I almost peed myself.

I do wish we had seen more of Sheldon and Kuthrappali's tit for tat, though. That was hilarious too. I WANT THAT DESK. And what the hell was that word Sheldon called it?

WAAAH! Why was Vampire Diaries a repeat last night? I don't need this crap today. *sob*

I don't have a lot of thinky thoughts about this week's episode, except that Steph remains awesome, and who ever would have thought that Katie would be the dumbass fuckup in her and Britt's relationship? Nice switcheroo, Timmy baby.

~

Well, as many of you know, our town exists in the late 19th century, so when the wind blows, we lose power, so I'm going to post this now. *sigh* Of course, the book I'm reading right now is an EBOOK, so I won't even be able to read if they power stays out. BASTARDS OF WEATHER! *Shakes Fist at Gods of Weather*

ANYWAY.

30 Days Memes, DAY SIX

Your favorite Lafayette/Tara moment: They're all so sweet. This is the only functional family unit on the show, really. I love when they take care of each other, and I love when they take care of Sookie together (I'm speaking of Gran's death in season 1, specifically.) When they're going through the food after the wake, and Lafayette ponders the fucked-upness of white people and their attachment to Jello is hilarious. Same in this scene:
Lafayette Reynolds: Wait a minute, you slept with Sam?
Tara Thornton: You know what? He barks in his sleep.
Lafayette Reynolds: Oh damn, white folk just all fucked up.
Tara Thornton: Yeah, that's what I said.

favourite couple:Just to be fair, I'll pick a pairing that was canon fully on this show. I'm going to have to say Wes/Fred. They were so cute and ultimately. I would have liked Spike/Fred or Spike/Illyria, if they had ever gotten to develop. I liked Gunn/Gwen, too.
favourite couple: Oh, come on, really?

LOL! Yeah, really. I'll hazard a wild guess. *G*

On the CPAP thing, have you called your medical supplier to see what they need to fix it? Last year, I brought my broken one in to be fixed and was given another one on loan. Or, if it is broken beyond repair, maybe you need a prescription to get it replaced? Check it out, because you don't need to exacerbate your illness with lack of sleep.

Smooch!

Oh, I haven't mentioned the fun fact that my local medical supplier no longer exists? It got swallowed up by some conglomco in the midwest somewhere. Every time I try to call them, I get put through to sixty million different operators, and none of them have my file "in the system" yet. Besides which, I know that Medicaid won't pay for mask replacement, even pieces, for four more years.

LUCKILY, I have an awesomely talented Daddy who glued the delicate tiny bits back together. You have a nose mask, if I remember correctly, right? I have a full face, so it has a special attachment to the hose to prevent asphxia in case the main values get cut off somehow. Whoever designed it built that system on a set of teeny tiny little braces that they apparently expect to survive carrying the weight of my enormous melon every night! Anyway, dad fixed it, so for now, I'm good. My tummy's even feeling better after having one good, solid 12 hour sleep. It's indulgent, but when you're sick, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Speaking of which, how are you and the hubly feeling?

Love you! *smooches*

We're good. Hubby has been doing a lot of bread baking, lately. He does a really good cinnamon raisin bread that makes a great French toast. I'm trying to wrap up the latest novel. After that...::Insert rant about current state of the publishing industry.::

Anyway, I'm glad your father was able to fix the mask, but very sorry that you are having so much difficulty with it. Yes, I have just a nose mask, "nasal pillows," in fact. I can't believe that Medicaid won't pay for a new mask except for, what, once every five years? That's crazy.

Mmmm. Cinnamon raisin bread sounds YUMMY. And dude, pretty much any bread makes good French Toast, except pumpernickel and rye, and that's mostly because I don't like them. ;)

As far as the mask thing, I guess I'm lucky Medicaid will pay for it at all, the way things are getting cut these days. And they do pay for new hoses, filters, and the humidifier tub every six months, so that's not too bad. As long as the main mask remains intact, I can jury rig the rest of the bits and pieces or replace them online if worse comes to worst.

Aiyee, the publishing industry. I still haven't written anything of late except some wee fics, but I can't say it's not a good time to be non-productive. Are you still working on that YA? That seems to be the hot market these days, yes?

Yes and yes. But, it's not a market I want to work in. I'm doing this book because I was asked to do it by someone to whom I feel a deep sense of obligation. I'm not sure what I'm going to do after it's done. I don't give a flying leap how hot the YA market is, I'm not a YA writer, and I'm tired of trying to shoehorn myself into a YA mold. Like I said, ::insert rant:: The state of publishing is depressing.

Yeah, I have to say YA doesn't interest me either. I like dark themes and hot smut in my stories. ;)
