Um... quip! *shrug* That's all I got.

RIP Tom Bosley. I'll miss you, Mr. C, you were a huge part of my childhood. :(

Hey, TV Geeks! It's time to vote for the People's Choice Awards. Actually, it looks like there's fun for movie geeks, music, and even web stuff. Actually, this is just voting for nominees.

*checks everything for True Blood*

http://www.peopleschoice.com

Especially if you're a Castle fan -- imagine my shock to see that Favorite TV Family DID NOT include the Castles! That's... just WRONG! http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/nominations/vote.jsp?pollId=110030&_requestid=1227648

I know I often mention how very old I am, but I'm doing the above People's choice voting, and I don't know a single one of the songs up for nomination. LOL

~

Oh, yeah, Opie, you totally had that smack coming. Sorry, bra.

But as far as Jax fucking the tacky porn chick and Tara walking in? Jax is an asshole, yes, but he did say he was done. I don't know, I'm so meh on Jax/Tara anyway, it's hard to care. I care a lot more about Gemma/Clay.

So, Jax has a half-sister in Ireland, hey? Interesting.

Loved the whole scene with the Bastards and the Mayans... but why do I think it's not that simple? Ah, see, I knew it.

I'm really confused about the whole Irish thing. There's the Sons and the IRA... I don't get who's who and what the hell is going on. What the hell does Abel have to do with anything?

HA! Go Gemma Go!

Hey, you know what I want to know? Where does the club get all that awesome merchandise? I mean, they have EVERYTHING with the logo on it, even the baby's hat.

Oh, Sheriff Wayne, you're so dead. Aw, man, they should have fucking shot him. Tig better not friggin die because of that.

I am so confused about the Irish thing. *sigh*

~

OMG MY HOTTIE KEVIN ALEJANDRO (aka Jesus from True Blood) IS ON SVU TONIGHT! (Well, last night, because I watched it on Canadian TV.) He's so dreamy. Though maybe... not so much in this role. BUT STILL.

~

30 Days Memes, DAY ELEVEN

Your favorite Sookie Stackhouse moment: I may be a broken record, but my favorite Sookie scene was when she stayed on the roof with Godric as he died.

something you hated that most people liked: *sigh* Um... Oh! Excising the Sunnydale gang almost completely from the lives of the Angel gang. It makes NO SENSE for TWO armies of heroes fighting to save the world, working two hours apart, TO NEVER HELP EACH OTHER OUT. Yes, I know it was network politics bullshit that necessitated the separation (or so they said. We all know it was Whedon's sadism.), but B/A Shipperdom aside, it weakens both stories and makes both teams look like morons.

"Oh, no, I'm sorry, I know we're facing Armageddon, but we can't possibly call Sunnydale/LA, because it's too embarrassing and uncomfortable to deal with Angel's/Buffy's ex."

*rolls eyes*

Hey!

something you hated that most people liked:

You left a blank!

LOL Sorry about that, I was extra braindead yesterday:

Connor. I guess since you had to wait for that, I should expound. LOL. I liked the profound change that having an impossible child wrought on my favorite character's life. I mean, not that he didn't have ENOUGH problems and complications, but throwing a child into the mix changed everything. No matter what else was going on in his universe, there was one thing more important than anything else, even saving the world.

Now, this isn't to say that the execution was perfect, or even particularly good a lot of the time. But a lot of people were opposed to the very idea of Connor throughout his arc, while I really liked the concept. And when it worked in the story, it really worked.

Thank you! And you know, I mostly agree with you on the Connor thing. I absolutely *hated* it when Darla turned up at the end of "Heartthrob"; I couldn't believe they wrote a pregnancy storyline. I thought it was such a waste. But in the end, that storyline, along with the machinations of Holtz and the later decision that Wesley made, were what kept me watching that season. Also, Lilah was pretty damn evil that year.

Because I positively loathed the budding Angel/Cordelia romance. It felt forced to me. The episode where Fred kept saying "Kye-rumption" was the worst. I was glad it kept getting derailed.

It's like I always say -- there are a number of ways they *might* have gotten me to buy a C/A romance. None of them were the way they did it. It was seriously like one day, they were awesome, a family in a truly deep brother/sister sense, then all of a sudden freaking FRED and LORNE TOLD THEM they were in love, and bam! It must be true, right?

Oy.

Exactly! I could see where it could happen (I'd have bought a long, slow built up) but I didn't like the way the writers went about it.

Plus, I get annoyed with the concept that just because have two pretty leads, they OF COURSE have to get it on. *eye roll*

I'm really confused about the Irish thing, too. It's not stopping me from watching obsessively or anything, but ... I don't get it. Who, in Ireland, is a good guy? Is *anyone*, or are the Sons walking into an international ambush? Re the baby, as far as I can figure, Abel is a pawn of opportunity, right?

I loved it when the hospital admin smacked the crap out of Tara. Actually, I liked all the crap-smacking-out-ofs in this ep. heh

Appointment TV.

Luckily, I'm used to being confused by really good entertainment, so no worries on that front.

I honestly do not get the whole interaction between the IRA, the priest, the Irish Sons, and John's Irish Baby Mama. I know, all will be revealed in time, but right now I'm all, "buh?"

I loved the whole Gemma escape thing. I totally didn't see it coming, for one. And yeah, it's so neat that I think the admin REALLY either respects Tara or is REALLY damn determined to keep her for the hospital.

Good times!

something you hated that most people liked: Giving Spike a soul.

I think a case could be made to show you that there are about as many people who hated it as loved it, including some Spike fans.

I didn't actually *hate* that he got a soul, I just hated that as a result, the point of season 7 was all about him, to the detriment of Buffy, the SG and every other relationship Buffy had with anyone not named Spike. Joss was so concerned with the idea of redeeming someone from attempted rape that he failed to realize the problems inherent in making that storyline ABOUT the attempted rapist.

I think I read a discussion about that yesterday somewhere -- how depending on where you hang out in fandom can effect how you perceive how fandom at large likes or dislikes stuff. So you're probably right. ;) It still just feels to me like "everybody" is glad for the Spike Soul because that excuses everything he did before and he can be their perfect Woobie who everybody else is so mean and evil for beating up.

Not that I'm bitter.

I hate the soul. I think it stripped Spike of what made him interesting -- the fact that he was at least amoral and at worst, downright evil, and yet he did good, developed attachments (if we can't say "love") etc. without a soul. I would have been ALOT more interested in season 7 if he had gotten the chip out, and yet struggled with the urge to do good vs. do evil. It would have been profound, and Buffy could have rejected him outright and maybe slowly learned to be FRIENDS at a later point.

Rather than the offensive and embarrassing BS we got. ;)
