OH NO! I've just found out that my very favorite romance cover model of all time, Robert Ashton, has passed away. He's the model for the hero of my current novel! *cries*

This was posted by his brother over on the posting board at his official website: Read more... )

What a shame. He was only a couple of years old than I am.

RIP, Rob.

OMG! Mr. Weasley is in the first episode of Red Dwarf! And in flashbacks to the first season. Weird when fandoms collide! And I think that's Craig Ferguson as Lister's Confidence. Wow.

You know something surprising that has come out of the exodus to InsaneJournal? Getting to know people I might never have interacted with on LJ -- or anywhere else on the net, really. Read more... )

So, to all my new friends: you rock, and I totally love you! *glomps on new friends* Which in no way diminishes my love of my old friends! *slurps all over old friends*

Can any of my British or Canadian friends explain why Kraft Mac & Cheese is called Kraft Dinner where ya'll are? I've always wondered that, and I just saw a commercial that reminded me.

I haven't been very good lately about taking all of my iron every day. I often forget when I go to bed at night -- I need to keep my iron pills in the bathroom instead of in my office with the rest of my meds. I can tell I haven't been taking it, because I'm starting to feel weak and breathless again like I was before I started on the iron. I have trouble concentrating, and I'm very, very tired in spite of having slept for 10 hours last night. I need to be more diligent about taking my iron, because I feel like crap today.

Has anybody read LISEY'S STORY by Stephen King? I added it to my wishlist today, because I usually really enjoy King's stories that revolve around writing. I have a little bit of PayPal money to spend on books, and I'm looking for something out of the ordinary to try out. So far, I've got TWILIGHT by Stephanie Meyer and SOMETHING FROM THE NIGHTSIDE by Simon R. Green. Any other recs from any genre would be appreciated -- I'd like to broaden my literary horizons a little bit.

What's more wrong than a dog inheriting twelve million dollars? Being an ex-maid of dog's late owner SUING FOR IT because said dog allegedly bit her. And also, the article mentions that the vast majority of the Queen of Mean's estate was put into a "charitable trust".

Hey! You know how I love ebooks and encourage people to buy them at every opportunity? Now, I have a complaint that has nothing to do with the format as a whole, but has to do with a SPECIFIC kind of software. Look, I'm an author, and I understand the need to protect copyright and such, but much like the ongoing battle in the music and gaming industries, it seems like the so-called "security" measures are such a pain in the ass, I wonder if they LOSE more sales than they supposedly save.Read more... )

So, authors and readers out there, I highly recommend you STAY FAR AWAY from Palm/eReader ebook format. If I want to read these books that I purchased legally, I have to spend the next three or four hours downloading and installing them all over again.

I am a VERY unhappy Duckie.
